The marathon

Thursday 29th March 2007

I am back at running after coming back from Ecuador and taking three full weeks off.  I somehow ended up with a cold in a place where the average daily temperature is above 30.  I have been back for a week and still have traces of this two week cold - almost three now.

Two more months until the Blue Nose International Marathon.  I had planned my training so that I was ready to go before I left for Ecuador.  I was up to 33 kilometres at the end of February.  Now I have to get back up there again and a little bit more.  Hopefully I will be ready to go by 2oth May.

Gone to Guayaquil

Sunday 4th March 2007

Tomorrow afternoon at 12.55, we take off for our annual short-term mission trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador.  We get to spend eight hours in Newark Liberty International Airport and take the red-eye to Guayaquil and land at 6.25am.  Then two weeks of camp at the new camp - I can’t wait to see it - two years of prayer come to fruition.  We’re staying in Bastion for the final weekend and come back on the night of the 20th.  This is my seventh trip down and I am just as excited and apprehensive as if it were my first.
